New Clients
Welcome. I'm glad you're here.
If this is your first time booking with me, this page will help guide you through what to expect and how to prepare. Every massage therapist is different, just like every body is different. My style is more of a Swedish Myofascial massage therapy style. Clients often feel sore after my treatments because I focus on problem areas. I don't rush appointments and clients get a full 90 minutes of time on the massage table. Expect anatomy education, a Q&A session, and self-care homework after every treatment ends.

Intake & Consent Forms
Before your first session, I’ll need you to complete two in-depth forms. Before you walk into the appointment, I will ask you to complete the following:
-
Client Intake Form – so I can understand your health history, goals, and any areas of concern.
-
Client Consent Form – this gives your informed permission for treatment and explains what massage involves.
If you do not complete the forms ahead of time, we will use treatment time to complete the forms together.
What to Expect in Your First Session
When you arrive, we’ll take 15 minutes to talk through your intake form, your comfort preferences, and what you’d like to get out of the session. This helps me tailor the treatment to your body and your needs.
Your actual therapy treatment time on the massage table will be:
-
45 minutes for a chair or prenatal massage,
-
90 minutes for a 2-hour session
This includes time for you to change, get on the table, and receive a full treatment. I use a combination of techniques based on your goals and what I notice in your body. No two massages are the same. Depending on your needs I use a blend of Swedish Massage, Myofascial Release (MFR), Body Mobilization Techniques (BMT), and Sports Massage, as well as self-care education to help you meet your wellness goals.
After the massage, we’ll take 15 minutes to check-in about how you’re feeling and go over any self-care or movement recommendations that may support your healing.
Basic Massage Etiquette
Here are a few guidelines that help make our session safe, respectful, and effective:
-
Please shower before your appointment.
-
Undress only to your comfort level.
-
Inappropriate behavior is never tolerated.
-
You’re welcome to stay quiet during the massage. Minimal talking supports deeper relaxation during Relaxing, Spa-style Swedish massage treatments. During Therapeutic-style massage treatments, we will communicate (albeit, minimally) throughout the entire treatment.
-
Tipping is not expected but always appreciated.
Communication
You’re always encouraged to speak up. If something doesn’t feel right (pressure, temperature, positioning, anything) please let me know. I check-in throughout the session, but your honest feedback is always welcome. Massage can also stir up emotions. If that happens, know that it’s okay. You’re in a safe space. We will have a 15-minute conversation before and after your massage therapy session.
Preparing for Your Appointment
-
Arrive on time so we can start on time with the 15-minute pre-assessment.
-
Wear loose, comfortable clothes for after your session.
-
Stay extra hydrated before and after your massage. It's a desert out there!
-
Avoid heavy meals right before your appointment.
-
Alcohol and drugs may affect blood pressure, circulation, and muscle tension. Massage manipulates these systems, and the combination can be unpredictable or dangerous. For example, increased circulation from a massage might speed up the absorption rate of alcohol or drugs, intensifying their effects unexpectedly.
Safety First
Last-minute cancellation fees suck, I get it. But they're rare. And I'd rather you cancel than have you coughing into my face cradle for an hour and a half. It's not safe for me, for you, or for other people in the massage studio. Please stay home and reschedule your appointment 24 hours beforehand if you are experiencing:
